It wasn't a pleasant experience for me. I don't think putting all the functionality of the original Facebook into iPhone application is the best way. As you mentioned, some of the main feature should be presented in a easier and more neat way. It's a just one of usual cases that we bumped into our everyday life, where usability issues lie and need to be resolved. And take this from a high schooled who is on Facebook 24/7 . Also I think you should he able to choose if you want to use the iPhone Facebook website or the regular one..
